Words To Live By

Acts 12:5-7 KJV

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

TODAY'S PROMISE
You are never out of my sight or without my attention.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
My Father remains alert and aware of my every circumstance and is faithful to meet my every need. He prompts others to pray for me when the circumstance turns grim.
No matter what my situation may be, or how hopeless things may seem, God will come through for me. He sends His angel, in answer to fervent and persistent prayer, to break loose the chains and set me free!

Friday's Feature

The Lord delights in you. Its hard to imagine a thought more foreign than this. Take all the religions of the world, including the way many approach Christianity, and you have a history of people trying to please a distant, holy, monolith of a deity with little assurance of success. As humans, we grovel, we confess, we beat our bodies, we deprive ourselves, we go through steps and stages of development trying to reach some level of respectability that would allow us to be worthy of the Presence, and then we wait for lightning to strike should we get anywhere near. Would we ever think in terms of bringing this God anything he didn't already possess? Bring God pleasure? How could anyone ever expect to do that?

And yet we do it without doing anything at all.

Any parent knows the feeling of watching their children sleep. There's nothing that can fully describe this. There's something about them in those moments of innocence and vulnerability that pulls at your heart and swallows you up. It takes your breath away. It makes you want to cover them and protect them from all the future hurts the world will surely inflict on them.

We don't know what to do with all the pictures we have of our children sleeping. We cant stop taking them. And isn't it interesting that our children are doing nothing while all this is happening? They aren't smiling. They aren't posing. They aren't performing. They aren't doing anything but sleeping, and they are breaking our hearts in two.

What is this except our taking sheer pleasure in their being? We delight in them because of who they are, and while they sleep nothing gets in the way of our admiration. They bring us sheer pleasure without doing anything at all.

I imagine this is how it is with God. Since he has made us like him, whatever we experience as parents has got to mirror something of what God feels toward us. And I imagine he feels the same thing. So shut your eyes and rest in the knowledge of his love. Know that you bring your heavenly Father pleasure simply by being who you are. You are His and He is yours, and there is nothing you can do today or any day, to change that. The love He has for you is a constant.

He loves you because He loves you.

If an earthly parent knows what this is, you can bet our heavenly Dad does too.

2 Kings 20:2-5 [NIV ]

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.'”

TODAY'S PROMISE
The facts may be bad, but my truth is always good.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
I refuse to lay claim to an evil report. Any and every report that contradicts the Word of my God I consider to be false and misleading. I know the power of God that is at work within me. He is faithful and what He has spoken will come to pass in my life.
Therefore, when the bad report comes, I set my face to the wall. I do not look at, or listen to, that which is contrary to the Word. I will accept nothing less than what God has promised.
I lay claim to my inheritance as God's child. Peace, joy, healing, and prosperity belong to me. I need only to remind my Father of these things and He changes the bad report to good.

PSALM 91 KJV
1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

TODAY'S PROMISE

When life is more than you can bear run to me, and I will be your safe haven.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and rest, remaining immovable and secure, under the shadow of the Almighty. He is my hiding place and my fortress, my God and Father, and I trust Him with all of my heart.

He has given me a sure and certain deliverance from the traps of Satan and has freed me from all deadly corruption.

He has covered me with His feathers and under His wings I have taken refuge. His faithfulness is my shield and my protection.

I do not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the danger that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at my side, even ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall NOT come near me!

I will see with my own eyes the punishment of the wicked.

The Most High God, my heavenly Father, is my fortress and my habitation.

He has accepted me as His own. I am a child in His royal family. Therefore, no evil may befall me and no plague, sickness or disaster is allowed to come near my dwelling.

God has commanded the angels to set up camp around me as watchmen in my life. They guard me in all of my ways and keep me from all harm. They hold me up in their hands lest I dash my foot against a stone.

I tramp on the lion and the cobra. The young lion and the serpent, I trample under my feet. The enemy's power over me has been completely stripped away. God has declared a law concerning me saying, "I will rescue her/him from every calamity; I will protect her/him because she/he acknowledges my name. She/he will call on Me and I will answer her/him. I will be with her/him in times of trouble. I will deliver her/him and set her/him in the place of highest honor. With long life I will satisfy my child and show her/him my salvation."

Psalm 124:1-8 KJV
1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3
Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4
Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5
Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6
Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7
Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8
Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

TODAY'S PROMISE

You don't have to be afraid of the traps of the enemy because I have prepared an escape route for you.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

God is on my side, and He will not allow the enemy to have control over me. When the odds seem overwhelming and things begin to look grim and I don't understand what's going on around me, I still remain confident. I know that my Father will never leave me nor forsake me.

Therefore, no matter what happens, my victory in the end is deadly certain. The Lord never fails to fight for me. He will never let me be consumed by the fangs of the enemy. All of the devil's traps are smashed to pieces, and I escape like a bird out of every one!

I am not afraid to do my part in this fight. I stand boldly in the face of the enemy with the courage of the Lion of Judah! When I put up a steadfast resistance and speak the name of Jesus in the spirit of faith, the devil panics and desperately tries to get away from me! What a wuss the enemy is! I call him exactly what he is. I resist him in the name of Jesus, and he has to run from me!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 KJV
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

TODAY'S PROMISE
You cannot make it alone, but don't be afraid because I am with you always.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I am wise to seek godly companionship in the things that I do. I understand that two can bring in a better harvest than one, for if one of us falls, the other can lift him (or her) up. Furthermore, if one of us is overpowered, the other can step in and lend a hand so that we can withstand every foe.
I am not an island in my walk with God. I am a companion of God's children and together, with God entwined in us and through us, we will be victorious in every situation.

Words To Live By

Isaiah 41:8-20 KJV
8But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
9Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

TODAY'S PROMISE
I have chosen you to be mine.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
I am a descendant of Abraham, the father of my faith. God loves me with all of His heart and has chosen me out from among all of the people of the earth to be His own child.
I have no cause for fear, for my God is with me. I will not be dismayed, for God is my Father, and He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me. He strengthens me and assists me in every circumstance. He upholds me with His righteous right hand so that my victory is made certain.
All who rage against me shall be disgraced and put to shame. Those who oppose me shall come to nothing and their cause against me shall be eliminated. When I look about for a formidable foe, a strong enemy and worthy opponent, I find none. The greater One is within me and He makes all of my enemies look like harmless bugs in my presence.
The Lord God of heaven and earth takes hold of my right hand and says to me, "Don't you worry about anything. I've got your back and won't allow anything to harm you. I'm always there for you to help you with anything you need. So don't be afraid. Think about it, precious child, I am your Father. You belong to me, and I belong to you. Is there ever a reason to be afraid? I have redeemed you and recreated you. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, a threshing sledge, new and sharp with many teeth; a fierce warrior and royal child in my kingdom. For you, no task is too difficult and no foe unconquerable. So rejoice, my child. Enjoy my presence in your life. Delight in me the way I delight in you, and ours will be a relationship like none you've ever known. I will always be with you. I promise you will never go thirsty again. I will answer your every prayer and never abandon you--no child, not for any reason. I will make rivers flow on your barren heights and turn your desert places into pools of water. All that you have I will bless for your sake. Yes, child, for your sake. I want all the world to know how much I love you -- how proud I am of you -- and what joy you bring to my heart -- how you make me smile. Never forget or doubt who you are."

PHILIPPIANS 4:4 NIV
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
No matter how bad things are around you, you can always rejoice
in the Lord.

TODAY'S PROMISE
Even when times are bad my joy is complete.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
God is good -- even when circumstances are bad. I will rejoice just because He is good all the time!

You can look beyond the temporary problems of life and focus on the Eternal God and His goodness. You can rejoice that God loves you and that you have a home in Heaven. If you only rejoice when you feel like it -- and circumstances warrant it -- you may never rejoice much. But you will miss a lot of joy. For when you rejoice in the Lord and focus on Him, joy begins to flow out of your inner being and strengthens you. This is God's answer for depression. Focus on God. Rejoice in Him, and receive the spiritual strength you need to carry on in victory.

HABAKKUK 3:18 NIV

18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

"Yet I WILL." Whenever you decide to, you can rejoice. In spite
of feelings and circumstances, you can choose to rejoice. Rejoicing is subject to your will -- not your circumstances.

2 Corinthians 12:9,10 KJV

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

TODAY'S PROMISE
When you are weak lean on me, for my strength knows no limits.

Words to Live By
God's grace (divine enabling) is all that I need to stand in perpetual victory in this life; for His strength in me is made perfect in my weakness. So, even when I am weak, the strength and power of Christ rests on me. This is why I am joyful even in my weaknesses and why hardships, persecutions and difficulties can't cause me to become distressed; for when I recognize my own weakness, I know to rely on His strength. And in His strength, I am not a victim, but a victor—a champion made to display God's own glory to the world!

(Isaiah 65:24)
"It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, l will hear".

TODAY'S PROMISE
Every time you call to me, I hear you.

The LORD hears us before we call and often answers us in the same speedy manner. Foreseeing our needs and our prayers, He so arranges providence that before the need actually arises He has supplied it,
before the trial assails us He has armed us against it.
This is the promptitude of omniscience, and we have often seen it exercised.
Before we dreamed of the affliction which was coming,
the strong consolation which was to sustain us under it had arrived.
What an awesome Father God we have!

The second clause suggests the telephone. Though God be in heaven and we upon earth, yet He makes our word,
like His own word, to travel very swiftly.
When we pray right we speak into the ear of God.
Our gracious Mediator presents our petitions at once, and the great Father hears them and smiles upon them. Now this is some grand praying! Who would not be much in prayer when he knows that he has the ear of the King of kings?

WORDS TO LIVE BY
This day I will pray in faith,
not only believing that I shall be heard,
but that I am heard;
not only that I shall be answered,
but that I have the answer already.
Holy Spirit, help me in this!

2 Chronicles 7:14-16 AMP

If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. For I have chosen and sanctified (set apart for holy use) this house, that My Name may be here forever, and My eyes and My heart will be here perpetually.

TODAY'S PROMISE

Ephesians 4:14,15 NKJV
That we no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ.

TODAY'S PROMISE
Be grounded in me so I can grow you through love.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I am no longer like an infant, turned this way and that way by every wind of doctrine that comes into my life. 2 John 8,9 NKJV

Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

TODAY'S PROMISE
Because I live and dwell in you, you have direct access to my Father, God almighty.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I am careful not to lose ground in my faith. I refuse to listen to those who try to steer me away from the things of God. I know that, as long as I don't give up on my faith, I will obtain what I have struggled for. The promise for me is secure and I will be fully rewarded.
I continue to live according to the teachings of Christ.

I do not run ahead of Him. I do not forget that I am in submission to God. His will has first place in my life and all of my plans, purposes and pursuits are in accordance with the calling He has given me. I will be the very person God has created me to be.
Where He tells me to go, I will go. What He tells me to do, I will do. As I continue in the Word, I maintain a close fellowship with my Father, and He is able to fill my life with all of His blessings.

Weekend Ponderings

At the University of Chicago Divinity School each year
they have what is called "Baptist Day." On this day each one is
to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area.
Every "Baptist Day" the school would invite one of the greatest minds
to lecture in the theological education center.

One year they invited Dr.. Paul Tillich. Dr.Tillich
spoke for two and one-half hours proving that the resurrection of
Jesus
was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after
book. He concluded that since there was no such thing as the
historical resurrection the religious tradition of the church was
groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on
a relationship with a risen Jesus, who, in fact never
rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if
there were any questions.

After about 30 seconds, an old, dark skinned preacher
with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the
back of the auditorium. "Docta Tillich, I got one question," he
said as all eyes turned toward him. He reached into his sack
lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it. "Docta
Tillich.. CRUNCH, MUNCH "My question is a simple question,...
CRUNCH, MUNCH... "Now, I ain't never read them books you
read..CRUNCH, MUNCH.." and I can't recite the Scriptures in the
original Greek....CRUNCH, MUNCH ..." I don't know
nothin' about Niebuhr and Heidegger....CRUNCH, MUNCH... He
finished the apple. "All I wanna know is: This apple I just
ate, was it bitter or sweet? Dr Tillich paused for
a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: "I cannot
possibly answer that question, for I haven't tasted your
apple."

The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into
his crumpled paper bag, looked up at Dr. Tillich and said
calmly, "Neither have you tasted my Jesus."

The 1,000 plus in attendance could not contain
themselves. The auditorium erupted with applause and cheers. Dr.
Tillich thanked his audience and promptly left the
platform.

Have you tasted Jesus?

Please pass this on guys! Jesus has risen.... and
He's coming back one day....

"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the
man who takes refuge in Him. If you have, rejoice in the hope of the
resurrection that your faith in Him brings." Psalm 34:8!

cannot forget!)

Weekend Ponderings

Let tell you about a man who died and met Saint Peter at the pearly gates. Realizing Saint Peter was a wise and knowledgeable person, he said, "Saint Peter, I have been interested in military history for many years. Tell me who was the greatest general of all times?"

Saint Peter quickly responded, "Oh, that's a simple question. It is that man right over there," as he pointed nearby.

The man said, "You must be mistaken, Saint Peter. I knew that man on earth. He was just a common laborer."

"That's right, my friend," replied Saint Peter. "But he would have been the greatest general of all time -- if he had been a general."

30For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

33God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

Words To Live By

Gen 32:24-28 KJV
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against hi, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, what is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince has thou power with God and with men and hast prevailed.

TODAY'S PROMISE
I have set aside countless blessings for you.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
I am relentless when it come to the things of God. I refuse to give in and let go until I have received all that God desires for me to have.

Words To Live By

James 5:13-16a KJV
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.

TODAY'S PROMISE
I have given you all the faith you'll ever need.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I will not face any trouble, adversity or misfortune without prayer.

I continually sign songs of praise, rejoicing in what God has done in my life.

I have no need to fret over sickness, for even it it were to overwhelm me, I could call for the elders of the church and have them pray over me, anointing me with oil in the name of the Lord. I know that the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord shall raise them up. Therefore, if my faith is lacking I will simply go where faith is strong, for it is abundantly clear that God wants me well.

If I have stumbled in any way I do not need to fret over it--I can rest in full confidence that the Lord loves me and forgives all my shortcomings when I ask Him to.

I also know that if sin is a hindrance to my healing I can repent of it. I confess my sins to trusted brothers and sisters in Christ, gaining strength and praying in agreement with them so that I will be healed.

Words To Live By

Isa 49:8-15 KJV
8Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. 12Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. 14But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. 15Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

TODAY'S PROMISE

I have granted you unlimited favor.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I have unlimited favor in the audience of my father.

He makes each and every day a time of healing and deliverance for me.

He holds me close to His heart and honors His covenant with me.

He restores all that the enemy has stolen from me.

He has assigned to me my part of His matchless inheritance.

He has set me free from the chains of darkness.

He has made me His own daughter/son forever.

He leads me on a comfortable passage filled with provision. I feed beside the desert road and find pasture on every barren hill. I neither hunger or thirst, nor does the desert sun beat down on me.

My Father loves me and is overjoyed that I have become His child.

He leads me and guides me beside springs of water.

He levels the mountains before me and causes my highways to be raised high above everything that would hinder my journey.

He comforts me and continually expresses His love for me.

He has given me His Word that He will never forsake me, nor forget that I am His daughter/son.

He has made me His own--a brand new creation--a born-again child of a new and godly race.

I shout, rejoice and burst into songs of praise and triumph at the thought of what He has done for me and where He has brought me from!

Words To Live By

Isaiah 50:4-9
4The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. 5The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. 6I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. 7For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me. 9Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

TODAY'S PROMISE
I am your help in time of trouble. Run to me.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
The Sovreign Lord of heaven has given me understanding of the power of the spoken word and how to speak it for the blessing and strengthening of the weary.
The Lord wakes me up each morning and opens my ears to the voice of His teaching. I am not rebellious, and I don't close my ears to His voice. I will not turn aside to the voice of another.
I endure the abuse of those who do not accept the truth. I stand my ground against their ridicule and mockery, while neither raising my hand or seeking vengeance against them.
Through it all, Jesus is my rock. He vindicates me and sees to it that I am not put to shame. I let my Advocate speak in my defense. What kind of person is so foolish as to argue with God Almighty? Whose accusations will worry me when the Lord has declared me to be innocent? Let them come to me and confront me. God is on my side, and if God be for me, only a fool would be my enemy!
