Words To Live By

Malachi 3:6-12 (New International Version)

6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says the LORD Almighty.
"But you ask, 'How are we to return?'

8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. 12 "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty.

TODAY'S PROMISE

I am the Lord your God, and I never change.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

I keep the commandments of my heavenly Father and follow them with all of my heart. I walk close to Him in perfect fellowship, and He draws close to me in return.

I will not rob Him by withholding my tithes and my offerings. The tithe is the Lord's. It is not up to me to determine what to do with it but to simply give it to the place where I receive my spiritual sustenance. I am well aware that by giving my tithes and my offerings I am warding off the attacks of the enemy. Therefore, I bring the whole tithe, along with my offerings into the church where I am fed the Word of God so that there is provision for the advancement of God's kingdom. In response to my obedience, God has thrown open the windows of heaven and poured out so much provision on me that I do not have enough room to receive it all.

Furthermore, when I give my tithe and make my offerings God rebukes the devourer for my sake. The enemy cannot take my stuff because God's hedge of protection surrounds it. My harvest is now insured, and I will not lose any of what my Father wants me to have.
